New
York-based fashion designer Angel Chang explores bleeding
edge trends in fashion. Inspired by smart fabrics and designing
for the future, she collaborates with engineers and interaction
designers to develop new ways of dressing for the cosmopolitan
woman. The Spring 2007 launch collection was immediately covered
by The New York Times, Newsweek, Style.com, and ELLE. Just
after one season, she was chosen as the recipient of the Ecco
Domani Fashion Foundation award. Recently, she received the
Cartier Women’s Initiative Award as the North American
Laureate.
Prior to starting her own company, Angel Chang served as Design
Assistant at Donna Karan Collection and worked in the design
studios of Viktor & Rolf and Marc Jacobs. As an active
participant in the downtown New York creative scene, she was
also Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the art and culture
quarterly Me Magazine.
She received an MA in Modern Art from Columbia University
and a BA cum laude in Art History & Visual Arts from Barnard
College.
